HSE / Maintenance Manager

Vince Paige, Jr., MPH, CHMM, is the Environmental, Health, and Safety Manager at Flowserve in Kalamazoo, Michigan. His responsibilities extend beyond EHS to include maintenance, facilities, security, and janitorial services across a three-building campus. He leads a small team and works with employees, leaders, and service partners to strengthen safety, reliability, and day-to-day operations. His approach emphasizes practical problem-solving, a visible presence on the floor, and building systems that help people recognize risks and make sound decisions.

A Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Vince serves on the board of the Michigan Chapter of the Alliance of Hazardous Materials Professionals (MIAHMP). He also serves as a national AHMP advisor and contributes to its Professional Development Committee. He is a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) West Michigan Chapter and serves on the board of Black Safety Professionals (BSP), an ASSP common interest group. His professional interests include team development, strengthening cross-functional collaboration, and navigating the competing responsibilities that come with leading multiple functions.

Vince brings that same commitment to his community. Through Communities In Schools, he volunteers with elementary and high school students and serves on the planning committee for Walking with Purpose, its annual fundraising event. He also supports workforce development through Urban Alliance's Momentum program, sharing lessons on professional relationships. He has also served as a judge at the Flint Regional Science & Engineering Fair and volunteered with the Alumni Association at the University of Michigan School of Public Health.

Outside of work, Vince enjoys time with his wife, Peggy, and their family, weight training, trail walking, reading, music, and movies, especially Godzilla. Fundamentally, he believes in strengthening people, systems, and standards in ways that leave a lasting impact. Even with many hats to wear, he is still looking for new ones to try on.
